Dr. Beth Sullivan, OTD, OTR/L.
Promoting Independence in Older Adults is dedicated to helping older adults stay safe, confident, and independent in their homes. As an experienced occupational therapist and educator, Dr. Beth Sullivan specializes in identifying risks, finding practical solutions, and creating personalized plans that make daily life easier and safer for clients and their families.
Dr. Sullivan has demonstrated leadership across both academic and clinical settings throughout her distinguished career. She served as the founding Program Director and faculty member for two occupational therapy programs, helping to shape curriculum development, educational excellence, and the next generation of occupational therapy practitioners.
In clinical practice, Dr. Sullivan developed and led specialized programs for individuals with age-related visual impairments and for clients with neurological conditions, serving as the primary occupational therapist in both programs. Her expertise focuses on helping individuals maximize function, safety, and participation in meaningful daily activities despite vision or neurological challenges.
Fall prevention, particularly among older adults, has been a longstanding professional passion. Dr. Sullivan has extensive experience teaching and consulting in this area and holds certification in evidence-based fall prevention interventions designed to reduce risk and support healthy aging.
Throughout every stage of her career, Dr. Sullivan has remained committed to a singular mission: empowering individuals to maintain the independence, lifestyle, and quality of life they value most.
Through Dr. Sullivan’s consulting practice, she provides thorough home assessments and partners closely with clients and caregivers to support aging in place, improve mobility, and enhance overall quality of life. Dr. Sullivan’s approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based care.

Dr. Sullivan has also provided education over the years to members of the community and to other occupational therapists on fall prevention, low vision, and home modifications.
